Incursion Options

Interactive African Drumming

Suit: Kindergarten Incursions. Children 3 - 5 years

Group Size: Up to 40 Children on Drums per group

Duration: 30 - 45 min

Description: EVERY CHILD gets an African drum, and an invitation to join in! Within minutes, Afrobeat have even the most tentative child beating their own drum. Children are introduced to the drums we play and discover the different sounds they make as they become a lively orchestra, their beats falling in together to create a percussive locomotive filled with enthusiasm and joy! Thunderous drum rolls are followed by lively beats, call and response chanting, rhythmic activities and energetic dancing as kids become part of the show!

African Musical Safari

Suit: All ages, Whole Centre Incursion

Group Size: Up to 50 Children per Show

Duration: 30 - 40 min


Think 'African Lullaby' as our Musical Safari takes your children on a relaxing but uplifting journey through the traditional sounds of the Kora (a 21 string African Harp), vocal melodies, dance, and story. This is an interactive cultural incursion that will capture their imagination, and inspire cultural awareness and diversity.

African Dance

Suit: Kindergarten Incursions / Whole Centre Incursion

Group Size: Up to 50 Children per Show

Duration: 30 - 40 min


Children will become mesmerised by this FUN, colourful, African dance demonstration by our artist in costume as they are introduced to a real life ‘Griot’ (musical historian who is bestowed the role of passing on their history and stories through music, song, and dance).

The Children will engage in learning some wild dance moves to the beat of the drum, and interact through storytelling, singing and clapping along to the beat. They will develop an understanding about the role of dance in African society and the relationship between drummer and dancer.
