 West African Dance
This is an exhilarating, fun, expressive and athletic workout to the exciting and driving rhythms of LIVE African Drumming! Learn traditional West African movements and dance sequences from Guinea and Senegal - the inspirational force behind today's world street styles! West African Dance combines elements of music, rhythm, song and fitness that exercise mind, body and spirit. Break away from the traditional fitness routines! West African dance offers a dynamic, whole-body, cardio workout with ENERGY. Help build stamina, increase flexibility and develop firm body tone and shape (through movements geared to stretch and strengthen), help weight loss, and develop grace, suppelty and finesse through body awareness (promoting strong posture and body alignment). This class will leave you feeling re-energised, uplifted and inspired.

 West African Drumming
The perfect after-work tonic! A Percussion class like no other. Stomp, drum and beat your way into some serious percussion energy as you learn a mixture of funky polyrhythmic beats from traditional West African arrangements, to the pulsating undertones of popular culture. Learn Djembe, and Doundoun drumming technique, the cultural significance and context behind traditional rhythms, and the relationship between drummer and dancer. Leave feeling uplifted, energized and inspired! Guaranteed.

Start a drum & dance TRIBE near you!
If you don’t have access to African drumming or dance in your area, afrobeat offers one-off workshops or a 5 week drum and dance program at a venue and location or time to suit your group. Simply organise a group of 10 or more and the venue, and afrobeat will come to you! Cost $110 (includes drum hire). Further discount for groups of 15 or more. *The organiser receives a complementary free course or workshop!
