DRUMS TALK! - Interactive Drumming

UnBEATable Interactive Entertainment!

Ditch the role of spectator and become part of the show! The Afrobeat DRUMS TALK! experience is unique. Everyone in our audience gets an African drum or percussion instrument and is invited to join in!

Drums TalkDRUMS TALK! …and their message is an invitation to you

A dynamic, colourful and theatrical spectacular, the afrobeat experience captures the immediate fascination and delight of audiences, who to their surprise are invited to take up a drum of their own and join in!

With every beat, enthusiasm and excitement build as participants begin to sense the power of their individual rhythmic contributions! Before they know it, the unsuspecting audience have become performers rather than spectators and the group dynamic and team spirit begin to emerge.

Following the ‘heart beat of the bass drum’, Afrobeat’s team of specialised facilitators and performers guide the willing orchestra on a musical journey guaranteed to revive the senses, leaving participants feeling uplifted, re-energised, inspired and ready for success – the effect is immediate and infectious! Within minutes, afrobeat have your team beating out rhythms of unity, creating musical harmony and an outstanding theatrical performance!

Through a series of dynamic non-verbal gestures and dramatic mime, afrobeat have DRUMS TALKing! - calling and responding between performers and audience, conducting volume and tempo control, delegating different rhythmic groups, and directing individual member contributions - a great way to welcome, acknowledge, validate and value each member’s contribution to the afrobeat drumming orchestra! Because Drumming is conversational, the experience of  ‘drumming together’ enhances our capacity to listen, observe, interpret and respond.  A great team and community bonding experience!

Fresh, vibrant, engaging and fun, Afrobeat know how to keep an audience entertained, and maintain team focus and momentum. Experts in reading the ‘group dynamic’, afrobeat are able to adapt and re-formulate their program to suit the group vibe.  Delegates can be motioned to get up and get moving to the beat through rhythmic hand clapping and stomping, vocal calls and responses, or form a spontaneous ‘conga line’ around the room! Anything is possible! As the energy levels rise, the afrobeat team demonstrate the significant relationship between drumming and dance, inviting volunteers to join them for a Tribal Dance-off! A pandemonium of drum beats sound as participants build to a rumbling finale following the dynamic dance movements of their colleagues/friends on stage!
